Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you take The Taboo Tango Quiz at quiz.marieelizabethmali.com.

The short version: I collect your first name and email address so I can send you your result and follow-up emails. I don't sell your information, I don't share it with advertisers, and you can leave at any time.

What I collect

When you take the quiz. Your seven answers, the result they produce, and some basic technical information: the type of device you're using, roughly where you're visiting from (country level), which site referred you, and the date and time. This is collected before you give me any contact details, and on its own it doesn't identify you.

When you unlock your result. Your first name and email address, and whether you ticked the consent box. Your quiz answers and result are then linked to that email address.

If you open my emails. Whether you opened them and which links you clicked.

Why I collect it

• To show you your quiz result.
• To email you your full result and follow-up emails.
• To understand how the quiz is performing in aggregate — how many people finish it, which results are most common, which questions people drop out on.

I don't use your information to make automated decisions about you beyond scoring the quiz itself, and the result is not an assessment, a diagnosis, or a measurement of anything.

The legal basis

If you're in the UK or EU, I process your information on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the unlock form. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

Who I share it with

I use these services to run the quiz and my mailing list. Each of them processes your information on my behalf:

• Railway — hosting and the database where quiz results are stored.
• GoHighLevel — my email and contact platform, where your name, email, and quiz result are stored, and from which my emails are sent.

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

How long I keep it

I keep your contact details and quiz result for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, I keep a minimal record of your email address so I don't accidentally email you again. Anonymous quiz statistics — answers and results with no contact details attached — may be kept indefinitely.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email. It works immediately.
• See what I hold about you, correct it, or ask me to delete it — email hello@marieelizabethmali.com and I'll respond within 30 days.
• Retake the quiz any time. A new result replaces your old one; I keep a note of the previous one, so I can see how people change over time.

If you're in the UK or EU you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, to receive your data in a portable format, and to complain to your data protection authority. If you're in California, you have the right to know what's collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Cookies and similar technologies

The quiz uses browser storage and a cookie to remember your progress so a refresh doesn't lose your answers, and to know which result to show you. These are necessary for the quiz to work.

Children

This site isn't intended for anyone under 18, and I don't knowingly collect information from children. Some of the quiz content deals with adult themes.

Security

Information is stored on encrypted, access-controlled services. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you've given me.

Changes

If I change this policy in a way that matters, I'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, say so by email.
